Standard Operating Procedure for Working Together on Sales
Purpose:
To create a clear & collaborative process between MORIMETALS & our business partners to properly identify, evaulate, & appraise precious metals.
Guidelines:
1. Identify the metal items.
- Isolate suspected precious metals: marked gold/silver/platinum jewelry, flatware, coins, dental material.
- Look for stamps (i.e., - 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, 925, Sterling, Pt950, or Pd).
2. Preparing for Evaluation:
- Separate metals by type, if known. Gently clean surface grime (avoid harsh polishing).
3. On-Site Testing Process:
- Morimetals uses portable XRF technology to non-destructively test items on-site.
- Each item is scanned for elemental breakdown (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, etc.) & weighed.
- Transparent offer is made based on purity, weight, & live market pricing.
4. Compliance & Recordkeeping:
- Morimetals adheres to all state-mandated secondhand dealer laws.
- Buyer may receive a summary report for records.
5. Payment & Documentation:
- Each transaction includes a printed receipt with full breakdown.
- A valid ID of the seller or representative is required for compliance.
